“This was our favorite outing that we did during our week in Pucón. We went as a couple, and were joined with another group of ten for the ascent. The guides (there were four) and equipment were excellent. I have done plenty of hiking, but this was my first time using an ice axe. The views from the top, including peering into the crater as it smoked, we're breathtaking. The most fun part of this trip was definitely the sled ride down.”

We saw wildflowers, beautiful high mountains, birds and horses, and they provided a nice packed lunch and water for us too. The max altitude will be about 8200ft, not high enough for altitude sickness, but there were some moderately steep inclines that caused some exertion but they gave lots of breaks and provided hiking poles. “The tour agency that was on the Viator website does not exist, is out of business. As the hike drew near, we were contacted by Viator to pay (which we did), and texted multiple times to the tour agency (through Viator) with questions, but never heard back. We arrived in town the night before the hike. On the day of the scheduled hike, we went to the designated meeting place—nothing/no one was there. We went to the address of the tour agency—found the building but it was obviously abandoned. Viator responded promptly to my text, said they would investigate.
